The seventh Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) National Event will be held at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, March 27-30. This gathering is an opportunity for survivors or former students of Indian Residential Schools to tell their stories to their families and the wider community. The national events carry the theme of the seven sacred teachings. The theme of the Edmonton gathering is “Wisdom.” Albertans are encouraged to attend and learn about the history and lasting legacy of the residential school system.
“I invite you to show up and be physically present at the Truth and Reconciliation gathering, with your whole hearts, bodies and minds. Witness the truth being told. Inhabit the past like you’ve never done before. Discover what repentance and forgiveness means to you on this journey of reconciliation and liberation.” The Rev. Cecile Fausak, Liaison Minister, Residential Schools, United Church of Canada, General Council Office
