The next Diocesan Synod will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2015 beginning at 6:45 pm at All Saints’ Cathedral, and on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 beginning at 9:00 am at St. Matthias Anglican Church. More information about the agenda is forthcoming.

Two prayers are posted on the website for your use in the coming months as we prepare for this Synod.
We make a database of all the delegates from the information on the Parish Officers forms.
We know that parishes are having their AGMs and elections this month, so please submit your Parish Officers_2015 to the Synod Office immediately after your AGM.
Please also ensure that the Synod Office is notified of changes to your Synod Delegates immediately, so that we are able to keep in touch directly with further notices and news. Also please keep us informed of any changes of contact, particularly email addresses, of any of the delegates from your parish.
We will do much of the communication about Synod via email. Please be sure that Margaret (firstname.lastname@example.org) in the Synod Office has your correct email address, and that of each warden, delegate, and member of clergy from your parish.
Please check with other delegates from your parish to see if they received this update, and bring them up to date if they did not receive it. I ask that someone from each parish make sure that those delegates without email addresses receive a print copy of any correspondence we send by email. If they would rather receive any correspondence from the Synod Office by print mail, please ask them to let us know.
We will post many of the documents, including the Convening Circular, on the web. If any of the delegates from your parish do not have access to the internet to retrieve documents, we ask that the parishes provide assistance, or call the Synod Office to print documents for them.
Notices of Motions:
Members of Synod are invited to submit notices of motions (ie. Resolutions) to the Synod Agenda and Resolutions Committee before Friday, March 27th, 2015. The notices received by this date will be included in the Convening Circular. If they are received after March 27th, but before April 10th, 2015, they will be considered by the Resolutions Committee, but might not be included in the Circular.
A reminder that committees and ministries associated with the Diocese are asked to submit written reports to the Synod Office before Friday, March 27th, 2015.
Nominations are sought for representatives for the following:
– Executive Council
– Provincial Synod
– Court of the Synod of the Diocese of Edmonton
– Lay and Clerical Secretaries for the 65th Synod
