Blanket Exercise Workshop

Blanket Exercise

KAIROS WORKSHOPLast March, the final national Truth and Reconciliation Commission event was held in Edmonton. Hundreds of people from our diocese joined thousands of people from across Canada to listen to the painful stories of Indian Residential School survivors and the generations of families whose lives were forever changed by the residential school system. In sharing their stories, many of our aboriginal brothers and sisters showed incredible grace, resilience and a desire walk together toward reconciliation.

As part of our journey to reconciliation, KAIROS, an ecumenical justice and human rights organization of which the Anglican Church is a member, is offering an opportunity for people to experience the Blanket Exercise. The Blanket Exercise is an interactive way of learning the true Aboriginal history most Canadians were never taught. More info about the Blanket Exercise can be found by visiting: http://www.kairoscanada.org/dignity-rights/indigenous-rights/blanket-exercise/?
