Edmonton Faith Leaders Sign Interfaith Statement on Homelessness

Signing of Interfaith Statement on Homelessness

Anglican Diocese of Edmonton Bishop Jane Alexander and faith leaders representing more than 20 different religious and spiritual communities came together before a capacity audience at the Citadel’s Zeidler Theatre on March 17th, to sign a public statement in support of Edmonton’s 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness.

Acknowledging the faith community’s role in ending homelessness in Edmonton by 2018, members of the Interfaith Housing Initiative launched the Congregational Housing Action Guide, with specific suggestions for congregations to join in the battle to end homelessness; and the “Welcome Home” program, which will partner community volunteers with a newly-housed person or family.
