Centennial Bible Reading Goes Google

Bible Challenge

Bishop Jane challenges all members of the diocese to read through the entire Bible by the end of our centennial year at Pentecost 2014. If TV producers can film the stories of the Bible in 10 episodes, surely we can read them in 365 days. Not convinced? Don’t worry, we have a plan. We are using a schedule developed by the Center for Biblical Studies(CBS). The CBS intentionally focuses on reading the entire Bible, reading the books of the Bible in sequence and ensuring that a psalm and a portion of the New Testament are read each day in order to provide strong spiritual sustenance. Let us begin this schedule on Monday May 20th, the day following our centennial celebration. Click here to download your copy of The Bible Challenge WORD / PDF

The schedule of readings is also available in ical format at http://edmonton.anglican.org/BibleYear.ics

To add it to your Google Calendar simply log in and from your calendar click the arrow to the right of “other calendars” then select “Add by URL” and paste in the above link. The calendar will take a bit of time to load and sync to your mobile device.

To do the readings online visit http://edmonton.anglican.org/bible (it works in your mobile browser too!) the readings for today will be there for you. To read ahead or take a look at readings from previous days in the challenge just change the date on the “Date” tab. The readings tabs will then show the readings for that day.
