On Sunday, December 11th at All Saints’ Cathedral, Edmonton, more than 100 people from the local Anglican and medical communities showed their love and appreciation for Dr. Mark Armstrong, who for 25 years has served as a Christian role model for children and youth in the Diocese of Edmonton as the Director of Base Camp and Chair of the Camping Committee.

Base Camp 2011

Base Camp was held at Pine Bay in William Switzer Park this year from July 23-29. It was a fun-filled week for the kids and volunteers who participated, which included activities such as canoeing, white water rating and hiking.

Chapel Sunset

For the second summer Anglicans and Lutherans teamed up to run Bible camp at Hastings Lake, near Tofield. The Rev. Chelsy Stevens and the Rev. Chris Dowdeswell each spent a week at camp as chaplains. From Family Camp to Kidz Camp to Youth Camp, people of all ages could enjoy a week away from home at Hastings Lake.

The weekend of March 18-20th, young people from around the diocese bundled up and headed to Elk Island Retreat Centre for Winter Camp 2011! The weekend, themed “Figures of Faith – Great Men and Women of the Bible”, featured many outdoor activities from sledding to snowshoeing – even a campfire communion!

Hastings Lake

The Anglican Diocese of Edmonton Summer Camps program is excited to partner with our Lutheran friends at Hastings Lake Bible Camp (HLBC). HLBC offers Christian-based camps for children ages 5-11, Junior and Senior Camps, as well as Single Parent and Family Camps.
